Zenvo aduce argumente, dupa ce Top Gear si Jeremy Clarkson au batjocorit ST1

In ultimul episod de Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson a testat una din cele mai puternice super-masini ale momentului. E vorba de Zenvo ST1, fabricata in Danemarca, o masina cu propulsie pe puntea spate, motor supra-alimentat cu compresor si turbo, cu performante incredibile. Cel putin, pe hartie.

In cadrul emisiunii Top Gear, prezentatorul a cam abuzat de masina, aceasta avand o problema cu ambreiajul dupa ce Clarkson a facut vreo ora de drift la turatie mare. Ulterior, din cauza unui ventilator care a venit cu defect de fabricatie, masina era cat pe aci sa ia foc. Si asta dupa ce acelasi Clarkson a abuzat de masina si a "testat-o" la viteza mare, timp in care a consumat 50 de litri de benzina. Aceste motive l-au facut pe prezentator sa spuna ca masina nu este fiabila.

Capsuna de pe tort a fost insa testarea celebrului Stig. Pentru acest test, englezii au ales sa alerge pe circuitul Top Gear pe ploaie torentiala, cu aderenta zero pentru masina sportiva. Asta, in conditiile in care, masini puternice pe care prezentatorii le preferau, nu erau scoase pentru a vedea timpul pe circuit daca pista era uda, ci asteptau uscarea acesteia. Din nou, discriminare.

Alte date, se pare "rotunjite", sa nu zicem inflorite sau scoase din burta de Top Gear se refera la acceleratia 0-100 si la pretul masinii. Cei de la Top Gear nu au spus in cadrul emisiunii timpul obtinut mai devreme, cand pista era uscata, de 2.69 secunde. Mai mult, ca sa intareasca faptul ca e o afacere proasta, Clarkson a spus ca masina costa 800.000 de lire, cand de fapt, ea are un pret de 660.000 lire.

The Stig’s supercar’ at the Top Gear show

After being named ‘The Stig’s supercar’ and credited for staggering performance in Top Gear Magazine in 2010, the car faced problems on its appearance at the Top Gear TV show. The car however, also achieved good results during the tests.

At the first visit, the clutch of the car burned out after an hour of extreme drifting by Top Gear drivers. At the second visit,a faulty intercooler fan caught fire after more than one hour of intensive high speed testing and 50 liters of fuel used. The source of the fire, has been traced back to a defect in the fan delivered by an acknowledged automotive supplier. After this incident Zenvo Automotive are conducting thorough testing of all fans before mounting them in the cars.

The car unofficially reached 304 kmh (189 mph) which was the highest speed measured on the straight of the Top Gear test track in recent times. This information did not air on the show. Also not made public was that Top Gear clocked the acceleration time from 0-100 kmh (0-62 mph) at 2.69 seconds on damp tarmac.

Instead Top Gear brought a lap time with the Stig conducted on a day where driving was not recommended in many parts of Britain due to low temperature and extreme rain. The weather conditions and the amount of water on the track severely reduced traction on the cars 345/30 ZR20 rear tires resulting in a lap time that does not reflect the real potential of the car in dry conditions.
