Volkswagen recheama in service 26.400 de vehicule in Statele Unite

Un numar de 26.452 de unitati vandute de Volkswagen din gama Jetta, Passat si Beetle sunt asteptate in service din cauza unor probleme de fabricatie. De fapt, e vorba de o singura problema: garnitura de cauciuc de la radiatorul de ulei a transmisiei automate. Se pare ca furnizorul a avut un lot de garnituri realizate prost, iar acestea in timp se vor crapa si uleiul transmisiei va curge. Motiv pentru care Volkswagen este precaut si isi cheama in service clientii.

Masinile vizate sunt numai cele dotate cu motorul de 1.8 litri turbo pe benzina, motorul care a inlocuit vechiul propulsor 2.5 in 5 pistoane. Interesant este ca din cele peste 26.000 de masini chemate inapoi numai 1.655 au fost cumparate de persoane fizice. Restul apartin reprezentantelor VW si diverselor companii. Toate masinile vizate au fost construite intre 1 februarie si 6 aprilie in uzina din Statele Unite.

Conform celor de la Volkswagen, nu au fost raportate probleme de clienti cu aceste masini. Adica nu este un caz similar cu cel al americanilor de la GM care au rechemat in service masini dupa ce au avut loc accidente grave. In cazul masinilor germane, nu s-a plans nimeni de vreo scurgere, incendiu, raniri sau decese ca urmare a acestei probleme. Chiar si asa, marca Volkswagen vrea sa previna o vizita in service prematura si le recomanda clientilor sa se duca intr-o reprezentanta de marca pentru a beneficia de noi garnituri gratuit.

VOLKSWAGEN ISSUES VOLUNTARY RECALL

Herndon, VA (April 21, 2014) - Volkswagen considers the safety and satisfaction of its consumers and passengers as a top priority. As such, Volkswagen of America today notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that it will be issuing a voluntary safety recall affecting the automatic transmission oil cooler on certain 2014 model year Volkswagen vehicles with a 1.8T engine and torque-converter automatic transmission.

The recall affects 26,452 model year 2014 Volkswagen Jetta, Passat, Beetle and Beetle Convertible vehicles produced between February 1, 2014 and April 6, 2014. Of the 26,452 affected vehicles, 1,655 are customer cars. Due to a supplier material change during the production of the transmission oil cooler, the O-ring seals in affected vehicles are out of specification. If the O-rings do not completely seal between the oil cooler and transmission, a fluid leak may result.

To fix the issue, Volkswagen will replace the defective O-ring with a new one, at no cost to the customer. No fires, accidents, injuries or vehicle fires have been reported. Volkswagen will notify all owners of affected vehicles and will instruct them to arrange for an appointment with an authorized Volkswagen dealer.
